In the United States this comic was available as part of free comic book day in May 2023, with cover title 'Spider-Man 2' and indicia that reads 'Custom Sony Interactive Entertainment 2023 English Print Comic No. 1'.
In the United Kingdom a very similar issue was distributed by some retailers for free alongside the game's release in October 2023, where the indicia reads 'Custom Sony Interactive Entertainment 2023 UK English Print Comic No. 1'. Although this issue had identical artwork and panel layout, some of the words used by the characters were changed. The issues also shared the same barcode.
