Synopsis

With the Tzenkethi having allied with the Romulans over the Federation, Sisko refuses to give up and allow the Tzenkethi to launch their assault against the Cardassians. Harry Kim follows secret orders to disable the Tzenketh fleet, putting himself and Lily at risk. Data tries to assume the roles of the many injured or dead crew members, and ends up overtaxing himself. Meanwhile, Beverly and Scotty are trapped at the Tzenketh planetary core, where they are the only ones who are aware of the planet's impending destruction.
