Synopsis

A super-powerful dog arrives in Smallville in a rocket complete with written records proving that he is baby Kal-El's puppy who Jor-El used as a test animal when developing his space rockets. Though happy to be reunited with his dog, Superboy needs to make sure that Krypto does not give away his secret identity several times before Krypto leaves for a romp in space.

Notes

Facsimile reproduction of Adventure Comics (DC, 1938 series) #210 March 1955 issue (first appearance of Krypto), including the cover, story, letter pages and advertisements from the original issue. The interior paper stock is a lightweight newsprint similar to the original issue. Modern DC logo, barcode, and age rating have been added to the back cover.

In the first printing of this facsimile issue, the ad that appeared on the inside front cover of the original 1955 issue was replaced by a new promo. This new promo was titled "Krypto's Golden Biscuit Sweepstakes" and offered the opportunity to win a chance to attend the world premiere of director James Gunn's "Superman" movie taking place in Los Angeles in July 2025. Non-winning issues had the message "Sorry you didn't win", accompanied by a special code for a free 30-month trial to DC Universe Infinite's monthly Ultra tier. This issue was shipped in a polybag so that winners/losers could not be determined by merely flipping through issues.

According to reports, some retailers were upset that customers that were being offered a chance to sign up for DC's online service, which they saw as essentially a competitor to comic stores, and some stores refused to sell this issue as a result.

This first printing also had a printing error in the Aquaman story. Page 5 of the Aquaman story was erroneously replaced by page 5 of the Green Arrow story. The same page 5 was included in its proper place in the Green Arrow story, so page 5 of the Aquaman story was not included in this printing.

DC subsequently announced that they would be doing a new printing of this issue, citing the misprint in the Aquaman story as the reason, but they also announced that the new printing would replace the Krypto's Golden Biscuit Sweepstakes promo with the original ad printed on the inside front cover of the original 1955 issue.
