Previous indexer listed Scott Wherle as editor, but the letters column in this issue and previous issue both state the previous issue was Wherle's last.

Many sources refer to this as the Renegar Edition, based on the cover text. Renegar is seemingly a reference to Michael Renegar, who at the time was vice president and licensing director of Palisades Toys, which produced many G.I. Joe-related busts and statues. Those products were advertised heavily in Devil's Due's G.I. Joe issues, but what involvement Renegar had in this issue's cover is unclear. This variant is occasionally referred to as just the Michael Turner variant, after the cover artist. Diamond shipping list refers to it as Graham Crackers Exclusive, and information on the retailer's website seems to indicate it was originally sold exclusively by them. This variant had a limited print run of 500, according to one source.
