Synopsis

Ben Tucker aspires to become a Marvel Comics creator, which doesn't please his athletic father Mike Tucker. Dr. Doom, in the meantime, is using a hidden satellite to damage the ozone layer. As Solarman, Ben then helps his father against extortionists. Dr. Doom declares to the world only he can stop the ozone layer's destruction and so blackmails the earth requesting an unlimited supply of uranium. Ben goes to Dr. Doom's Beverly Hills mansion pretending he's a student journalist, but Dr. Doom gets suspicious and imprisons him. Turning into Solarman, he busts out, disables the satellite and confronts Dr. Doom until the sun goes down together with his sun-based powers. In the end we see the real Dr. Doom, bedsick with the flu, watching the whole event, revealing Solarman was fighting a hologram and promising retribution. Ben tries and succeeds in reconciliating with his father.
