The Walt Disney version of Davy Crockett, which starred Fess Parker, had previously appeared in Four Color (Dell, 1942 series) #631 (Indian Fighter, May 1955), #639 (At the Alamo, July 1955), #664 (The Great Keelboat Race, November 1955), #671 (River Pirates, December 1955), and Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier (Dell, 1955 series).
