Synopsis

In Warsaw, Poland, 1939, the Nazis are massing to rout the Polish Air Force, the only obstacle to their victory over Poland, and are being led by the Nazi commander, Captain von Tepp. However, in his attack, the brother and sister of a lone survivor are killed, and this survivor, later to become The Blackhawk, vows to hunt down von Tepp and make him pay personally for their deaths.

Notes

Per a phone conversation, Jim Amash sees some additional artists' work throughout the Chuck Cuidera signed stories, presumably other artists in the Will Eisner studio, as suggested by the note at the end of the Table of Contents. "Black and white and color reconstruction by Digital Chameleon" -- per publication data page. Some of the official story titles appear on the covers, but not the stories themselves. The unofficial story titles are from the Table of Contents. Sam Rosen letters credits based on Mark Evanier's mention in his foreword that "most of the lettering [on both the Cuidera and Crandall stories] was done by Sam Rosen." On-sale date from the ComicList Database © 2001 by Charles LePage with information from Sun Coast Comics. Publication date based on publisher's monthly titles with the same on-sale date.
