Synopsis

Teenager Shelley moves to a new town and doesn’t know anyone, so she takes the initiative and asks a boy for date. He accepts and Shelley resolves “never again to waste time in waiting” and continues this policy when she graduates and goes to work. She pursues new coworker Allan and he eventually confesses his love for her. Shelley even proposes marriage to Allan. Coworker Joan confronts Shelley and says Allan loves her. Allan confirms it, saying “every man likes to feel he’s doing the choosing.” Shelley gives up Allan and hopes someday to “find the happiness I pray for!”
