Synopsis

Crusher Hogan is working maintenance at a boxing facility and spinning tall tales of how he helped create Spider-Man when he discovers a plot by one of the owners to take down a fighter. Peter gets a call from May who asks him to keep an eye on Nathan who may be in trouble. Spider-Man gets involved in the problems Crusher Hogan and Bobby Chance are having with Manslaughter. Felling the villain, Spider-Man tells a white lie that confirms his "close" relationship with Hogan, making him a hero. Peter tells Aunt May he lost track of Nathan and finds he was beaten badly and is now in the hospital.

A shipping schedule printed in the untitled newsletter from the comic book store Comics Plus in Dearborn, Michigan, published August 2, 1985, issue #1, stated this issue was scheduled to be released on August 16, 1985. The on-sale date listed as September 3, 1985, may be for the newsstand release date.
