Synopsis
Mark Collins buys the diary of an explorer who vanished 150 years earlier and investigates a claim of untold wealth. He gains Tarzan's help, but is followed by two thieves who steal the diary. The criminals shoot Ashawa tribesmen guarding a sacred cave of ancient bones and find Slessinger's chest. Freedland then kills Shinner for the treasure, but then falls to his death as Tarzan smokes him out of the cave. Collins discovers the secret is Egyptian hieroglyphs revealing the location of Tutankhamun's tomb--a treasure now worthless.

The indicia reports that this issue was "Available week ending 27.8.81" -- 17 August 1981 was a Thursday, so the possible on-sale date was Monday 13 August.
