The Hecatoncheires

The Hecatoncheires were three sons of the primordial deities, Uranus (Sky) and Gaia (Earth), the were giants who shared the common characteristic of having fifty heads and one hundred arms. They were also siblings to the twelve Titans and the three Cyclopes. In order to maintain power, the Hecatoncheires had been imprisoned in Tartarus by their father Uranus after their birth. When Zeus later freed the Hecatoncheires, they fought alongside the gods to defeat the Titans.
