The newspapers announced that starlet Rita Farrar leapt to her death from the S.S. San Cristobal en route from the Rio de Janeiro opening of her picture, "Lady Dance No More". The reason for her suicide was reportedly due to depression caused by the death of her fiancé Bill at Pearl Harbor. In reality, she faked her death to become a U.S. counter espionage agent named Rio Rita, tasked with fighting the Axis threats in South America.
