Synopsis

After her parents’ deaths, Ann is raised by her aunt Ruth in an old mansion, and not allowed to see the outside world, or meet people. A casual encounter with Phil turns into a romance, but Ruth forbids Ann to see him. Ann discovers her aunt’s secret: she broke up a romance between Ann’s mother and a man Ruth wanted, and has felt guilty ever since. Ruth apologises, then dies. Ann and Phil are reunited.
