Synopsis

With Jennet's father dead in a bid to rescue King Charles I before his execution, she is accused of treason as a loyalist. Refusing Piggott's offer to spare her if she would become his wife, she is exiled to the colonies. As she is about to board the ship, Hal attempts to save her but fails. He too is transported as a prisoner. During the voyage, a failed attempt to take over the ship results in Hal being marooned on an island with little hope for survival. Broken at the thought of Hal's death, she agrees to a plantation owner's offer of marriage to escape the harsh life in the fields.
