Synopsis

Darla returns to New York after 5 years. She visits familiar places from her time as a top Broadway star. People she knew well, including her former co-star Harold, and her agent Sam, don’t recognise her. When she was a novice and then a star, she and Stage Door cafe counterman (and would-be playwright) Jimmy fell in love, but were separated. During WWII, Darla entertained the troops and was injured in a plane crash that ended her performing career. She is finally reunited with Jimmy, who now owns the Stage Door café.
