Synopsis

Young nurse Alice becomes a “wild-eyed, frenzied dope addict” through the influence of Jack. They’re both arrested and sent to prison; after a year, Alice is released and moves to a small town where the local hospital desperately needs nurses. She falls in love with Mark, the hospital director and head surgeon. Jack is brought into the hospital for emergency surgery and dies on the operating table. Alice thinks she subconsciously killed him. She admits her past to Mark. Mark says he still loves her and Jack died as a result of his wounds.
