Synopsis

Sally’s childhood friend Johnny returns to town as an adult and they date. However, he robs a gas station while she’s with him and they’re both arrested. Sally is not charged but the scandal causes her to lose her job and her friends drop her. She moves to Kansas and gets a job as a waitress in Don’s diner. Sally and Don become engaged and she tells him about Johnny; gossip follows her and his business gets bad. Sally goes home but Don follows. Johnny escapes from prison and Sally is wounded while saving Don from him. She’s now a hero and can marry Don.
