Synopsis
Mickey laughs at Minnie's new hat, then mistakes a girl in a similar hat for Minnie. The girl mistakes Mickey for someone else and gives him a "diamond ring" that actually contains a large ruby. Minnie is kidnapped by the girl's real contact, Black Pete (who is never identified by name.)

Apparently counted as Mickey Mouse #1 when Dell's Mickey Mouse series began in 1952 starting with #28, although this issue was preceded by Four Color (Dell, 1939 Series) #16 and Four Color (Dell, 1942 Series) #27.
