Synopsis

The Marine Corps in Vietnam are cracking down on black nationalism, trying to ban the Black Power arm bands some soldiers are wearing. But the black soldiers adapt and carry on in their own way. It's early January, 1970. Robert and his company are shipped to a landing zone deeper in the jungle, LZ Ross. Assigned to guard duty that first night, he senses that an ambush from the Viet Cong is coming, but no one believes him. The ambush finally does happen three nights later, resulting in the loss of thirteen of his company's men. Several months later, Robert gets some R&R in Bangkok.
