Years after Jason's uncle Pelias overthrew his father, King Aeson, Pelias agreed to allow Jason to take the throne if he succeeded in retrieving the Golden Fleece. Jason assembled the Argonauts, named after their ship "The Argo", and together they went on a quest for the Fleece.
