Synopsis

Evelyn’s husband was killed in Korea, leaving her a widow with a young son, Johnny. Evelyn dates Fred and they fall in love, but she repeatedly postpones informing him that she’s a widow and a mother. When she does, he’s shocked and Evelyn thinks he’s no longer interested. Johnny falls ill and Evelyn can’t raise the cash for an operation. Fred pays the bills and tells Evelyn that he was surprised to learn about Johnny, but he has no objection to becoming his step-father.
